Thank you Jan! I'll do a little demo on this Friday's call. Currently the discussion items don't show up on the phone. There's a chatter feature on the main page where I posted a welcome to our new members. That shows up on your phone if you want to alert someone to something. Hope that makes sense.

I spoke to Joe Cooper on Friday. The City is making a final decision by Tuesday about hosting the event. At this point, Joe does not believe that they will have vendors on the street, but the street will be closed for strolling. The stores on Main Street will be allowed to put tables out front if they so choose. He said he will get back to me on Tuesday with their final word.

Since we have a connection with Basano's already and they are going to be assisting us with a fundraiser, I am wondering if we might ask them if we can set up a table. My thought is that we could be in front or on the side corner closer to their patio and (going back to Glenn's original concept) we put Luminarias on the curb around the the restaurant to attract attention. We can put some on their patio as well to pull it all together.

Thoughts???

Yeah, I think that's a great idea. Ava is also going to start using their restaurant as a place for students to pick up materials. I dropped off 25 bags and tea lights for them on Sunday as well so that they could start experimenting with decorating as well. I'll have Ava talk to them about 3rd Friday.

Hello all.

I heard from Joe Cooper, and the City has decided to cancel 3rd Friday at this time. They received many emails of concern about hosting it at this time. He did say however, that if Bassano's agrees to let us use their corner to put out our Luminaria bags and promote the event, he has not problem with it. We just can't be in the street because they are not closing off the street.

I would suggest we chat with them and see if they mind us setting up a table - even a small card table - to give us some space to decorate bags. Thoughts?

We are all set for Saturday from 6-9. Ava and her friends are going to set up something up on the Patio at Bassano's and they will put a message on their sandwich board out front.

Awesome news! I am happy to stop by at the start to help with set up and let the youth do their thing. ;0) What time are they getting there.

They are going to be there from 6-9pm. If it's slow or they get bored, I told them they can leave whenever they want. I'm going to drop off bags, tea lights and sand. I'll also give them the big cardboard luminaria's.
