The partnership will prioritize funding cancer research grants for HBCU medical and STEM students.

The American Cancer Society and the National Basketball Wives Association (NBWA) have teamed up to inspire millions to join the fight against cancer through the power of advocacy, basketball, and sport.   

Together, these two organizations join in a mission to ensure that no one is disadvantaged in their fight against cancer and to help eliminate barriers to cancer prevention and treatment in underserved Black and Latinx communities.  

If you are using this platform, I can assure you that you are a hero!  We had the pleasure of famous basketball coach, Phil Martelli, joining our Southwest FL Real Men Wear Pink Throwdown last night.  Coach Martelli gave an impassioned speach to the RMWP participants and described what it means to be a hero.  While he was speaking to them, his message is just as relevant to each of you, whether you are volunteers or staff.  I would highly recommend listening to this 10 minute message from Coach Martelli and together, we will CRUSH cancer!

This video inspires all ages to bring GOLD to their schools to raise money for childhood cancer.  We can use support pieces from Schools vs. Cancer or Coaches vs. Cancer to maximize the impact.
